Elecnor comes to Honduras' aid after Hurricane ETA strikes

The tropical depression ETA in early November caused severe flooding and landslides from heavy rains in Central America. After moving into Honduras from Nicaragua, it left thousands of victims in the northern part of the country

Elecnor is one of the few Spanish companies with a stable presence in Honduras.

After speaking with the Spanish Ambassador for the country, the Spanish Cooperation in Honduras (AECID) and a representative of the Spanish Red Cross based in Tegucigalpa, Elecnor Honduras donated a 60 hp motor for rescue boats to the Honduran Red Cross. With it they will be able to provide rescue services by boat, both to rescue people and to take humanitarian aid to those who have been worst affected. Red Cross teams only have small motors of around 30-40 hp on their boats, so this new motor will allow them to cover greater distances across open waters. The motor also has a sensor that detects obstacles and regulates its own height so that it does not collide with them.
