Elecnor installs photovoltaic modules on two roofs of the Fire Station in Badajoz

Badajoz, 8 February 2012.- Elecnor has installed a new photovoltaic plant on two roofs of the fire station in the "El Nevero" industrial estate in Badajoz.

In total 408 photovoltaic modules have been installed on the roof of the office building and the roof of the warehouse/garage. The modules have been manufactured by Atersa, a subsidiary of Elecnor, which is a leader in the manufacture of solar modules and panels.

In addition to the modules, the installation includes a transformer station to supply the generated energy to the network.

Both roofs total 80 kW of power and the estimated energy generation is 121.6 MWh per year, which equals the electricity consumed by 40 homes in this period.

The plant will transform solar radiation via the panels on the roofs and will generate energy without any CO2 emissions, preventing 1,216 tonnes being emitted during its useful life.

Elecnor currently has 5.5 MW of rooftop installations in Spain and 26.2 MW in the international market, making it a photovoltaic energy industry benchmark as a developer and manufacturer of all the components needed to configure a photovoltaic system.
