Elecnor strengthens US presence with purchase of Hawkeye

Acquires Hawkeye LLC infrastructure company from Willbros for EUR 20 million

Elecnor Hawkeye will provide infrastructure services serving electricity and gas companies in the North East and Mid-Atlantic states  

Madrid, 19 November 2013.- Elecnor has reached an agreement with Willbros of the US to acquire its subsidiary, Hawkeye LLC. With turnover in excess of USD 80 million, Hawkeye provides engineering, construction and maintenance services to the electricity, natural gas and telecoms industries. This deal will strengthen Elecnor's position in the United States and help drive its expansion there.

The agreement, worth USD 20 million, includes, inter alia, the acquisition of equipment and key contracts for electric transmission and distribution projects, natural gas projects, substations, telecoms systems, engineering and construction.

Elecnor Hawkeye LLC will provide infrastructure services serving electricity and gas companies in the North East and Mid-Atlantic states where Hawkeye has a strong track record.

The US and the rest of North America are key markets in Elecnor's international expansion plans. In fact, Elecnor has a stable presence in the US through its subsidiaries Elecnor Inc. and Elecnor Belco. The latter is located on the West Coast which is where Elecnor constructed its first PV solar farm (20 MW), specifically in California.
