Elecnor has won the CLIME call for tender by the Federación de Municipios y Provincias de Castilla-La Mancha (Federation of municipalities and provinces in Castilla-La Mancha — FEMP-CLM) to improve lighting in 58 municipalities in the region by switching to LED technology. This new 10-year contract has a budget of EUR 127.56 million. The FEMP-CLM believed Elecnor's bid was the most economically advantageous tender.

The switch to LED technology will encompass 58 municipalities in the region, which will see its energy facilities renovated. Above all, it will result in a significant saving on energy bills in these areas. Project CLIME represents a saving of 82.36% on street lighting, 61.79% on interior building lighting, and 10.21% on heating and air conditioning.

The contract includes the maintenance of 83,398 lights, 1,250 street lighting control centres and 983 buildings. Elecnor is a certified ESCO, demonstrating its ability to carry out different types of energy efficiency improvement projects, in both the tertiary and industrial sectors, and town street lighting installations. When acting in the capacity of an ESCO in street lighting projects, the company is responsible for funding, energy management, maintenance and full warranty for the length of the licence or mixed goods and services contract.

In addition to this contract, Elecnor is already an ESCO in 47 municipalities, where it operates 214,846 lights, and it maintains 151,262 lights in a further 32 municipalities. To learn more about project CLIME, visit: https://vimeo.com/325822867
